Need Information? Here’s Where to Find It

There are many ways you can get information from Blue Cross and Shield of Texas. They offer options to suit a variety of communication preferences.

The BCBSTX Website
Visit bcbstx.com/tamus for information about all BCBSTX has to offer:

  • If you’re a member, you can sign up for or log in to Blue Access for Members, your online access to your account.
  • You can learn more about health insurance, get answers to your questions about using your benefits and more.
  • Have specific questions? You can find many common questions and answers in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.

Blue Access for Members
Here are some things you can find in BAM:

  • Information about what’s covered by your plan and what your copays, deductibles and other costs may be.
  • Your Explanation of Benefits from the last 18 months, found under the Claims menu.
  • A list of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers that are in your health plan’s network.
  • You can also get a member ID card, sign up for text or email notifications, and more.

BCBSTX Mobile App
With the BCBSTX app you can:

  • Find an in-network doctor, hospital or urgent care facility.
  • Access your claims, coverage and deductible information.
  • Access your temporary digital member ID card.
  • Securely log in with Face ID (iOS only) and Fingerprint ID.

Need to access your account on the go? The BCBSTX mobile app is free and available in English and Spanish Spanish from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

LifeTimes Member Newsletter

Online Communities
In the BCBSTX Connect Community, you can talk, share and learn. It’s designed to help you stay up to date on health care and benefits topics that are relevant to you, while connecting you with others in the community to share advice and information.

Customer Service
The BCBSTX customer service phone number is on your member ID card. When online options don’t answer your question, give them a call.

Communication Preferences
You have several options for letting BCBSTX know how you want them to communicate with you. You can also let them know your preferred language. Whether you prefer texts, email or logging in from your computer or phone, they’ve got you covered.

Here are the three ways you can update your communication preferences:

  • Go to bcbstx.com/preferences
  • Text MYINFOTX to 33633 for a link.*
  • Open the BCBSTX mobile app and go to Settings.
