Acadeum – Course Sharing
The Texas A&M University System has partnered with Acadeum to launch a course-sharing initiative designed to enhance student success across our member institutions. Through this program, eligible students at participating campuses gain access to online courses offered by peer institutions in the system. These courses are pre-approved for seamless credit transfer and integrated into students’ degree plans, helping them stay on track for timely graduation and overcome scheduling or enrollment barriers.
Institutions gain flexibility in managing course supply and demand, reduce bottlenecks in high-demand or specialized offerings, and increase student retention and completion rates while maintaining consistent academic standards and institutional oversight. Participating universities determine which courses are offered, ensure faculty credentials, approve syllabi, and administer grading as though the course were offered locally. Meanwhile, the system-wide platform streamlines the administrative and technical logistics of cross-campus enrollment, tuition routing, and student support.
Why It Matters
For students:
- Filling course sequence gaps to stay on track to graduation
- Access to additional courses when needed, including specialized or high-demand subjects
- Flexible scheduling options
- Support for academic progress
- No need to apply to another institution and transfer credit
For institutions:
- Increased course enrollment and optimized resource use
- Greater flexibility in program offerings, including options for starting or sunsetting programs
- Support for faculty coverage during sabbaticals or leaves
- Enhanced student retention and graduation rates.

How It Works
- Each participating campus identifies and pre-approves online courses it will make available to other system institutions.
- Students, in consultation with their advisor, select a course via the Acadeum network when their home campus cannot offer the needed option in a given term.
- The course appears on the student’s transcript as if taken at the home institution, preserving financial aid eligibility and avoiding a separate transfer process.
- The home campus processes tuition and credits, and the student completes the course under the same academic quality and grading standards as on-campus offerings.
- A campus lead at each institution coordinates student eligibility, course listings, advisor interactions, and administrative workflows.
