The Council for Academic Technology and Innovative Education (CATIE) advances the educational mission of Texas A&M University System member institutions by fostering the effective use of technology in course and program design, development, delivery, and assessment. Serving as an advisory body to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, CATIE provides informed recommendations on emerging trends, best practices, and strategic initiatives that enhance technology supported teaching and learning across the System.

CATIE strengthens collaboration among academic leaders, instructional designers, faculty, technologists, and student success partners. Members work together to identify opportunities for innovation, align technology integration with institutional priorities, and ensure that learning experiences are engaging, accessible, and inclusive for every student. Through shared expertise and continuous evaluation of emerging tools and methodologies, the council helps cultivate a culture of experimentation that supports informed decision making.

A core focus of CATIE is to improve digital learning environments and promote approaches that prepare learners for an increasingly complex world. The council encourages the adoption of evidence based practices, advances initiatives that empower faculty development, and supports students in achieving strong academic outcomes. This commitment includes ongoing evaluation of technology solutions, partnerships with leading organizations, and the development of guidance that helps institutions navigate change with confidence.

By connecting System expertise and providing a forum for collaboration, CATIE ensures that technology enriched education remains adaptable, effective, and aligned with the evolving needs of higher education. The council works to create seamless connections between people, ideas, and tools so that every institution within the Texas A&M University System is equipped to deliver high quality learning experiences today and in the future.
