Building AI Literacy Across the A&M System
The 2026 AI Learnathon is a system-wide, month-long initiative designed to build foundational artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among faculty and staff across The Texas A&M University System.
Running March 27 – April 30, 2026, the Learnathon brings together coordinated learning opportunities, campus-led events, and system-level programming to support responsible, practical engagement with AI.
By combining hands-on learning with system collaboration, the AI Learnathon supports a shared goal of strengthening institutional readiness for the future of teaching, learning, research, and administration.
Why AI Learnathon?
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how work is done across higher education and beyond. The AI Learnathon provides a structured, supportive environment for faculty and staff to move from awareness to action.
Through this initiative, the A&M System is:

- Strengthening institutional readiness and innovation capacity
Key Dates
The Learnathon aligns with major system and national events to create momentum and engagement throughout the month:
- March 27 – National AI Literacy Day
- April 2 – CATIE’s Ignite Faculty Virtual Town Hall Webinar (AI in teaching & learning)
- April 9–10 – Chancellor’s Faculty Innovation & Impact Symposium
- April 13–17 – National AI Week
- April 22 – Texas A&M University System’s AI Symposium with Grammarly
What to Expect?
Faculty and staff across the System can participate in a wide range of activities, including:
Learning & Certification Opportunities
- Self-paced training through Grow with Google and ACUE
- Courses such as AI Essentials and Prompting Essentials
- Opportunities to earn industry-recognized certificates
System-Level Programming
- Faculty innovation webinar highlighting real-world AI use
- Symposium sessions featuring AI in teaching, writing, and workforce alignment
- Engagement during National AI Week
Campus-Based Activities
Each member institution may host:
- Workshops and training sessions
- Faculty showcases and panels
- Hands-on AI demonstrations
- Local innovation initiatives
