You may be aware Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is negotiating new contracts with Houston-based Memorial Hermann. BCBSTX and Memorial Hermann are working to reach an agreement by March 31, 2026.

Should an agreement not be reached by the contract termination date, A&M System Benefits Administration, working with Memorial Hermann and BCBSTX, have made special arrangements for Memorial Hermann doctors, hospitals and other facilities to continue to be in-network for A&M Care and J Plan members until April 30, 2026.

This special arrangement is due to the importance of Memorial Hermann to our members enrolled in the A&M Care and J Plans. You may receive a postcard from BCBSTX indicating Memorial Hermann will be out of network effective April 1, 2026. While this may be accurate if an agreement is not reached and is a required notice, please note our special arrangement for The Texas A&M University System and the A&M Care and J Plans will allow you in-network access to Memorial Hermann through April 30, 2026.

If an agreement is not reached by April 30, 2026, and you are pregnant or being treated for a disability, acute condition or life-threatening illness, you may qualify as a continuity-of-care patient and continue to receive care at Memorial Hermann at in-network level of benefits.
