Welcome to our Academic Appointments webpage, a comprehensive resource for understanding the appointment procedures associated with critical leadership positions within our system member institutions.  Please note that specific appointments, including those that are regular or interim, for vice presidents, deans, and deputy/associate directors of agencies do not necessitate direct approval by the A&M System Board of Regents.  Instead, these appointments undergo rigorous review and subsequent approval by the Chancellor through submission to the A&M System Office of Academic Affairs. This streamlined approach ensures efficient decision-making and allows us to maintain the highest standards of leadership within our system.

Submission Process

Submit the appointment request with all required documents via email to AA-AgendaItems@tamus.edu.

Required Documentation and Format

Please ensure that all requests include the following documents:

  • A one-page memo, written on university/agency letterhead in MS Word, with the CEO/Director’s electronic signature.
  • The individual’s full CV in PDF format.
  • A complete salary justification form.  Please note that the salary offered must not exceed 10% of the median annual salary for a comparable position at peer institutions or agencies (per the A&M System-wide Pay Plan).  Any salary exceeding this limit will require Board approval.

Please be aware that requests submitted without these essential documents or with incomplete information will experience delays in processing.
