Membership

The Council for Academic Technology and Innovative Education (CATIE) brings together experts from across the A&M System to advance academic technology and digital learning initiatives. Given the evolving nature of academic technology, CATIE maintains a flexible and collaborative structure, engaging members with diverse expertise to address key system-wide initiatives and emerging challenges.

Who Are CATIE Members?

CATIE members are academic leaders, faculty innovators, and technology professionals who play a vital role in shaping the future of teaching and learning within the A&M System. Ideal members include:

• Academic leaders overseeing instructional technology and online learning operations
• Directors of Distance Learning or Instructional Technology
• Faculty members recognized for innovative technology use in teaching
• Professionals responsible for technology-based training and outreach

How Are Members Appointed?

Each A&M System member institution appoints CATIE representatives through their Provost/Chief Academic Officer (CAO) or designated leadership. Appointments are for a three-year term, with the possibility of reappointment.

Executive Committee

The CATIE Executive Committee provides leadership and strategic direction for the council. The Executive Committee helps guide the council’s activities, support CATIE initiatives, and advance collaboration across member institutions. Each Executive Committee member serves as the lead for one CATIE Work Group, helping to facilitate collaboration, coordinate projects, and engage members in advancing teaching, learning, and innovation across the A&M System.
