According to TAMUS Policy 34.06: Appointment, Commissioning and Authority of Peace Officers, all newly appointed campus peace officers within The Texas A&M University System and peace officers of the Texas Forrest Service must be approved and commissioned by the system Board of Regents.

The Office of Environment, Safety and Security compiles all member submissions for newly appointed peace officers and submits a single agenda item from The Texas A&M University System to the Board of Regents. Members must submit a completed Peace Officer document listing all newly appointed peace officers as well as a copy of each new officer’s TCOLE Appointment Application (L-1) to PDagendaitems@tamus.edu according to the schedule below.
