About the HUB (VetHUB) Program

VetHUB is Veteran Heroes United in Business. The program will focus on certification of service-disabled veterans (SDV) to facilitate their growth and development and increase HUB contracts and subcontracts with the state of Texas. For more information about VetHUB, visit the state website on VetHUB.

The System Offices HUB Program ensures the system’s good faith effort to include HUB businesses in its procurement efforts. This good faith effort involves evaluating and determining subcontracting opportunities, administering the mentor/protégé program, participating in marketing and outreach efforts to promote contracting and subcontracting opportunities in an effort to achieve HUB participation, and reporting HUB expenditures to the Texas State Comptroller in accordance with statute.

The System Offices HUB Program is responsible to:

  • Identify and champion relationship-building opportunities with HUBs to support the procurement needs of the System Offices
  • Host, sponsor, and attend forums, fairs, and events to establish and cultivate relationships with HUBs
  • Administer the System Offices’ Mentor/Protégé Program in accordance with statute
  • Provide training and guidance on the State of Texas’s HUB Program requirements to System Members and staff
  • Oversee the System Offices’ compliance to the State of Texas HUB Program
