Jacob A. Becker

Jacob A. Becker is a member of the Student Affairs & Special Projects section in the Office of General Counsel. His practice involves advising universities and agencies on issues such as campus safety, the Clery Act, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the First Amendment, tort claims, policy development, student conduct, behavioral intervention teams, animals on campus, student organizations, premises liability, and the Texas Public Information Act.

Jacob joined the Office of General Counsel in December 2020.  Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Jacob maintained a civil and commercial defense practice with a national law firm in Dallas, Texas. He served as Higher Education Law Fellow and Assistant Counsel at Southern Methodist University from 2016-2018.
