To the Texas A&M community:
As leaders of organizations that work every day to support Texas A&M University, its students, faculty, staff and former students, we want to share our strong support for Dr. Susan Ballabina as sole finalist for president of Texas A&M University.
Collectively, our organizations represent generations of Aggies and support the university in countless ways — through student scholarships, academic and athletic program support, preserving traditions, strengthening the Corps, philanthropy and lifelong engagement with the Aggie Network.
In those roles, we have worked closely with Dr. Ballabina over many years and across a wide range of important efforts that have strengthened Texas A&M and expanded its impact. She has consistently demonstrated a deep appreciation for the Aggie Network and the vital role philanthropy plays in advancing both our academic mission and championship athletics.
Just as important, Dr. Ballabina has meaningfully engaged with our affiliate boards. She has taken the time to participate in meetings and retreats, to listen, to contribute and to understand the perspectives that shape our collective work. She recognizes the importance of our affiliate organizations and the critical partnership they represent in supporting Texas A&M’s continued success.
Through these experiences, we have seen firsthand the qualities that make Dr. Ballabina uniquely suited to lead Texas A&M at this important moment. She brings deep institutional knowledge, steady leadership and a clear understanding of what it takes to guide a complex university while remaining grounded in its mission and values.
Dr. Ballabina has spent more than 30 years serving Texas A&M and the State of Texas. She has led major initiatives that have advanced student success, strengthened communities, expanded outreach and positioned the university to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic state. She understands not only what makes Texas A&M special, but also the responsibility that comes with leading an institution that plays such an important role in Texas’ future.
What has always stood out to us most is how she leads. Dr. Ballabina is thoughtful, approachable and deeply committed to the people she serves. She listens, builds trust and she brings people together to move important work forward — qualities that are essential in a university president.
As Texas A&M approaches its 150th year, this is a moment that calls for experienced, principled and steady leadership. We are confident Dr. Ballabina has the experience, character and commitment needed to lead Texas A&M into its next chapter while preserving the traditions, values and sense of purpose that have long defined this institution.
We look forward to working alongside Dr. Ballabina in support of Texas A&M University and the Aggie community in the years ahead.
