Nacogdoches
Overview
Stephen F. Austin State University is a comprehensive, regional institution located in Nacogdoches, Texas. The university enrolls almost 13,000 students, offering approximately 80 undergraduate majors and more than 120 areas of study within six academic colleges – business, education, fine arts, forestry and agriculture, liberal and applied arts, and sciences and mathematics. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, SFA provides the academic breadth of a state university with the personalized attention of a private school.
SFA has a long and strong reputation for educator preparation across the state of Texas. Bringing our showcase degree, the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, to the RELLIS Academic Alliance campus allows college students from the Bryan/College Station area to have access to this high-quality degree program without leaving their home area, their jobs and their families. Additionally, SFA has implemented a flat tuition rate, allowing students to enroll in more than 12 hours of instruction while paying the tuition rate for only 12 hours. That attention to the cost of higher education makes the SFA degree more competitive than that at a number of other institutions.
