CYBERSECURITY

The RELLIS Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies Academy is a partnership between The Texas A&M University System and the Institute for Cyber Threat Defense (ICTD). The Academy provides training in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies. The partnership leverages the relationships and expertise of ICTD’s instructors, who come from private industry, the intelligence community, military special operations forces, law enforcement, and academia.

CARPENTRY

The Carpentry Program includes 200 contact hours of skills training and assessments covering basic safety; construction math; basic rigging; building materials, fasteners, and adhesives; hand and power tools; construction drawings, specifications, and layout; floor systems; wall systems; ceiling and roof framing; building envelope systems; basic stair layout.

ELECTRICAL

Overview
As an electrician, you might perform any of the following duties: Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Inside Wireman, Control Electrician, Electrician Technician, Industrial Electrician and Journeyman Wireman.  Blinn College Electrician trainings are developed to prepare students to join the workforce by providing training and skills development in the electrical field.

The Plumbing Program includes 200 contact hours of skills training and assessments covering basic safety; construction math, hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging; introductory plumbing; plumbing tools; plumbing math; plumbing drawings; plastic pipe and fittings; copper tube and fittings; cast iron pipe and fittings; steel pipe and fittings; plumbing fixtures; drain, waste, and vent systems; and water distribution systems.

HVAC

Overview
As a Technician any of the following duties may be performed: HVAC Service Technician, HVAC Installer, HVAC Specialist, Air Conditioning Technician and HVAC Mechanic. The HVAC classes are designed to prepare individuals for a career as a technician in the installation and repair of systems commercially and residentially. This includes hands-on skills development in the application of soldering and brazing, fittings, power distribution, principles, heating fundamentals, furnaces, air distribution systems, ductwork, electrical, troubleshooting, venting, theory, principles, refrigerants, blueprint reading, load calculations and mathematics.

PESTICIDE LICENSING

3-Day Apprentice Training

First Offering

Overview
This training will satisfy the Structural Pest Control Service’s requirements for certification of Commercial/Non-commercial and Technician licensing of pesticide applicators (8 hours of training). This is the general training, and not a category training. In addition, while the Texas Department of Agriculture does not require training as a condition of licensure, this class will prepare license applicants for the TDA General examination. Please notify the affected employees within your organization.

Please note: This training can be used to satisfy the 8 hour re-certification training requirement for Technicians.
