The Digital Center of Excellence is a virtual resource of The Texas A&M University System governed by a Steering Committee composed of digital professionals across the A&M System member institutions and agencies.
An A&M System intranet
While the Digital Center of Excellence is not a research or academic center, it is an intranet focusing on three objectives:
- Distribute best practices and specific channel strategies to present a unified digital experience across online sites, mobile sites, social presences, and marketing activations of each of the A&M System members;
- Streamline processes for publishing content, moderating social communities, measuring campaigns, and acquiring tools;
- Create cost efficiencies across the A&M System where possible.
Priorities based on your survey responses
In fall 2014, the Digital Center of Excellence Steering Committee conducted a System-wide survey that was sent to each System member to assess digital needs and resources and help inform the selection of strategic priorities for 2015. The survey was distributed through digital marketing, communications and information technology communications channels and listservs, resulting in more than 200 survey responses and identification of almost 70 System staff who work in the arena of digital media.
Survey questions centered around digital guidelines and best practices; digital services members currently use or need; System member staff involved in digital media; and recommendations on digital vendors. Survey respondents were asked to rank their top priority digital needs for the Committee’s initial areas of focus. From this input, the Committee selected four initial focus areas for 2015.
2016 Focus Areas
Based on System member priorities communicated in the survey, phase one of this intranet includes the Committee’s 2016 focus areas:
