Since 2010, she has worked at the forefront of this field, beginning during the significant influx of Post-9\/11 veterans into colleges and universities.<\/p><p data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"969\">Before joining The Texas A&amp;M University System, Dr. Long served as the Veterans Coordinator at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California, and established the first Veterans Resource Center at California State University, Northridge. She earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in Marketing from Texas A&amp;M University, her master\u2019s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California, and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&amp;M University.<\/p><p data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1382\">As Director of Veteran &amp; Military Services for The Texas A&amp;M University System, Dr. Long leads system-wide strategy and initiatives that support student veterans and military-connected students. She works across System offices, state agencies, and 12 universities to strengthen programs, build partnerships, and expand opportunities for nearly 4,500 student veterans and more than 8,000 military family members.<\/p><p data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"2052\">Dr. Long is an alumna of the 2022 George W. Bush Institute Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program and a past Co-Chair of the NASPA Veterans Knowledge Community. She currently serves on the advisory council for HigherEdMilitary and is Co-Chair of the CAEL Military-Connected Community of Practice. Her work has been recognized at the institutional, state, and national levels, including the 2023 Student Veterans of America William Pearson Tolley Award awarded to the Texas A&amp;M University System Office of Veteran &amp; Military Services for exceptional advocacy. He holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree from Texas A&amp;M University in Psychology.<\/p><p>Paul works as the Office of Veteran &amp; Military Services Graduate Assistant. In this role, he is responsible for tracking and communicating data on student veterans and military-affiliated students to enhance programming and student success. He manages communication with Texas A&amp;M System schools and stakeholders through the OVMS listserv, website, newsletter, and social media.
