Fraud of any kind committed by employees or System members is prohibited. This page outlines responsibilities for fraud risk management, reporting obligations, and the A&amp;M System\u2019s coordinated review process, based&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/policies.tamus.edu\/10-02.pdf\">System Policy 10.02<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities of System Members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Management at all levels is responsible for:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing a tone of zero tolerance for fraud&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upholding integrity and high ethical standards&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrating compliance with all applicable laws, policies, regulations, and rules&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying risks inherent within their areas and maintaining appropriate internal controls to protect A&amp;M System resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities of All Employees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All employees must:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use System resources appropriately and conduct themselves ethically&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and System rules&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promptly report suspected fraud when observed or brought to their attention&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities of the Chief Auditor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The System\u2019s Chief Auditor is responsible for:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviewing, documenting, and reporting allegations of suspected fraud&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining confidentiality to the extent permitted by law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fraud Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chancellor ensures the System uses all required resources to conduct coordinated and comprehensive reviews of alleged fraud. These reviews may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Chancellor&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The member institution\u2019s Chief Executive Officer&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>System Internal Audit&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>System Office of General Counsel&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>System Ethics &amp; Compliance Office&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Law enforcement officials&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Retaliation against any employee who reports suspected fraud or participates in the review process is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Actions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The System pursues appropriate disciplinary action and seeks recovery of losses from employees found to have engaged in fraudulent activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Report Suspected Fraud<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every A&amp;M System employee is responsible for reporting suspected fraud affecting the System or any of its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports may be made anonymously through the System\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.ethicspoint.com\/domain\/media\/en\/gui\/19681\/index.html\">Risk, Fraud &amp; Misconduct Hotline<\/a>,&nbsp;operated&nbsp;by a confidential third-party reporting service,&nbsp;or&nbsp;by calling&nbsp;1\u2011888\u2011501\u20113850.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suspected fraud may also be reported to the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/sao.fraud.state.tx.us\/\">Texas State Auditor\u2019s Office Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;by calling&nbsp;1\u2011800\u2011892\u20118348.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>System Internal Audit&nbsp;\u2028<br>Phone: 979-458-7100&nbsp;<br>Email:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:iaudit@tamus.edu\">iaudit@tamus.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fraud prevention The Texas A&amp;M University System is committed to&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;an ethical and transparent environment across all member institutions.
