The materials from the meeting can be found <a style=\"color: #500000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tamus.edu\/seco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/149\/2024\/04\/Civil-Rights-Meeting-2024-April-4-1.pdf\">at this link<\/a>. The feedback we have received so far seems to indicate the material was well received, and that our explanation of the new process map seemed to make sense to people.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #500000\">Nonetheless, the process map is only the beginning of explaining the process, and after meeting with Dora Lisa on Friday, we have decided we will need to re-shape the upcoming meeting (Civil Rights Update Meeting #1, scheduled for Thursday, April 18 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm on Webex). In the interest of better explaining how the new process map is to be implemented over the first year of our new regulations, I am adjusting our agenda to address the following:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #500000\">Overview of Civil Rights Stakeholder Groups<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">How do Stakeholder Groups Function?<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Sub-group #1: Case Management\/Safety<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Sub-group #2: Support Services<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Sub-group #3: Education, Outreach, and Training<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Related Compliance Areas (including but not limited to):<\/span><ul><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Admissions<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Athletics, Intramurals, and Club Sports<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Behavioral Intervention Teams<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Contracts and MOUs<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">DEI Compliance<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Military Programs<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Registrar<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Risk Management<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Veteran&#8217;s Services<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Others as identified by the system member<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Reviewing the Civil Rights Complaint Resolution Process<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #500000\">Strategic Planning, Implementation, and Assessment<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #500000\">For this coming (April 18th meeting), we would recommend inviting all four of the key civil rights stakeholders (Title IX, Equal Opportunity, ADA Compliance, and Section 504 Compliance (student accommodations) to attend the meeting. It will be a valuable opportunity to see our intentions behind the stakeholder process and to have it broken down in detail to make operationalization a bit easier to envision.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #500000\">Finally, as we indicated on Thursday, registration is currently open for all of our upcoming Webex programs and the materials from last week&#8217;s meeting include direct links to the registration pages for these events.
