Notification of Planning<\/span><\/h2>

Effective June 1, 2023, an online planning notification form must be submitted for academic associate, bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, doctoral, and professional degrees prior to submission of the full degree program proposal (Texas Administrative Code 2.41<\/a>). Planning notification for all doctoral and professional programs must be submitted one year prior to submission<\/strong> of the full proposal (Texas Administrative Code 2.143<\/a>). Note: Multidisciplinary, applied, and embedded associate degrees are exempt from the planning notification requirement.<\/i><\/p>

Member institutions complete the following form when planning a degree program for submission to the A&M System Laserfiche portal<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Once the notification form has been submitted to the A&M System Laserfiche portal<\/a>, the Office of Academic Affairs will conduct a review and either approve it or request additional information.\u00a0 Upon A&M System approval, the member institution’s designated representative can submit the planning notification to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

30-Day Comment Period Changes<\/span><\/h2>

Effective September 1, 2023, institutions are no longer required to notify area institutions of their proposal submission. \u00a0The 50-mile notification is no longer required for academic certificates, academic associate, bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, doctoral, and professional degrees. \u00a0When THECB receives a new proposal, they now notify institutions. Institutions have 30 days to submit comments about the proposal to the THECB.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
