Certain appointments (vice presidents, deans, deputy and associate directors of agencies) no longer require direct approval of the Board. These proposed appointments should be submitted for System Office review and Chancellor approval. All such requests should be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs at AA-AgendaItems@tamus.edu for processing.
A memorandum naming the proposed appointee and briefly describing the position, the nature of the search, a brief summary of the individual’s qualifications, the proposed start date, and the proposed salary;
The proposed appointee’s CV or resume´ as a PDF; and
A completed salary justification form (sample below)
Academic Appointments Requiring Board Approval
Certain academic appointments (e.g., university presidents, agency directors, board of visitors) require direct approval by the Board, on recommendation by the President. Once approved by the Board, such appointments may be effective at the conclusion of the Board meeting at which approval was granted or effective based on the date noted on the request.
System Policy 01.03, Appointing Power and Terms and Conditions of Employment, requires that the Board of Regents appoint presidents and agency directors of system members.
Candidates Abbreviated (8-10 page) CV
Per the Board Office, CV’s should NOT contain personal information such as home addresses, home phone numbers, cell phone numbers, etc. It is the responsibility of each System member to verify that such information has been removed from its appointee’s CV before submission.
CV’s must be submitted in word format and not exceed 10 pages. If necessary, summarize major accomplishments, publications and presentations may be listed with an emphasis on the most recent five years.
