A&M System Regents approve organizational changes
The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents at its May meeting re-established the position of deputy chancellor and revised the reporting structure for the vice chancellor for agriculture and life sciences, the vice chancellor for engineering, and the directors of the A&M System’s seven agricultural and engineering state agencies.

Homeland Security partners with TTI for fence testing
Texas Transportation Institute is helping to conduct a series of crash tests at its Riverside facility on various types of fencing that might be placed along miles of high-traffic, high-risk border areas. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Boeing and Sandia National Labs also are involved in the testing.

A&M-Kingsville master’s degree in adult education now offered entirely online
Starting this summer, a master’s degree in adult education can be earned from Texas A&M University-Kingsville online. The program is designed to serve the professional staff development needs of adult educators pursuing career advancement and new career opportunities. 

WTAMU Symphonic Band garners another TMEA invitation
The music program at West Texas A&M University has been invited for a record twelfth time to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association annual convention. The band will perform in San Antonio during the association’s gathering in February 2008.

Tarleton students win engineering design competition
Two seniors in Tarleton State University’s engineering and hydrology programs have won the first design competition organized by the Water Environment Association of Texas. Students in universities in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas were invited to participate.
