BlueCompare, an online tool providing performance and affordability information on physicians and other providers in the BlueCross BlueShield of Texas network, is now available on the BlueCross BlueShield website. BlueCompare uses evidence-based medicine guidelines to rate physician and provider performance.
The affordability measurement indicates whether a provider’s fees are “more,” “average” or “less” than those charged by other physicians and providers who manage the care of patients who have similar medical conditions and who access care within the same geographic area.
Although BlueCompare is a resource for information, it does not provide recommendations. You select your medical providers, and your decision to use a particular provider should not be based solely on the information from BlueCompare.
