TAMIU expands
agreement with Mexico’s Universidad Regiomontana
Officials
from Texas A&M International University and Universidad
Regiomontana in Monterrey, Mexico, last month expanded their 1997 agreement
to include additional student and faculty exchange, research collaborations,
undergraduate and graduate enrollment and a dual degree program.

H. Ross Perot received an honorary doctorate from Texas A&M University-Texarkana
in December.
A&M-Commerce
Rayburn statue fund-raising nears goal
All but $5,000 of the $75,000 needed has been raised for a proposed statue of
Sam Rayburn at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Rayburn, a 1903 graduate
of what is now A&M-Commerce, served as a congressman for about 50 years
and held the powerful post of House Speaker for a record 17 years.
