Prairie View A&M celebrates opening of Electrical Engineering facility
Prairie View A&M University’s College of Engineering celebrated the opening of its $12 million, 48,787-square-foot Electrical Engineering facility on Aug. 25. The building, designed by Kell Muñoz Architects of San Antonio, will house bachelor’s degree programs in electrical and computer engineering and a master’s degree and doctoral program in electrical engineering. 

Texas A&M fall enrollment shows double digit increase in minority freshman
Texas A&M’s 2005 fall enrollment of 44,647 includes, for the second consecutive year, double-digit gains in enrollment of minority freshmen—African Americans, Hispanics and Asians-Americans—according to unofficial first-class day enrollment figures released Aug. 31.

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has authorized two College of Education master’s degree programs, in counseling and guidance, and educational administration, to be offered through distance education starting in fall 2005.

TAMIU gets $698,299 GEAR-UP award from U.S. Department of Education
Texas A&M International University will receive a grant of $698,299 from the U.S. Department of Education to assist in early college preparation and scholarships for low-income students, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn announced in August.
