Fernando Treviño, Jr. of Del Rio is a Political Science major at the George H.W. Bush School of Government and Public Service, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Service and Administration (MPSA). This program is intended to be a five-year combined Bachelor/Master program, which Mr. Treviño is on track to complete in 2013. His MPSA track will be Public Policy Analysis with a concentration in educational policy. Mr. Treviño holds honors including National Hispanic Scholar and President’s Endowed Scholar at Texas A&M University and is a member of the Texas A&M Century Singers.
Mr. Treviño’s volunteerism covers numerous opportunities, including those with U.S. Congressman Francisco Canseco and U.S. Congressman
Solomon P. Ortiz. He has participated in two internships, including one with a pharmaceutical company. He has also volunteered at two elementary schools in Bryan and aided in teaching a bilingual kindergarten class.
Mr. Treviño was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve a one-year term expiring May 31, 2012.
