Colton L. Buckley of Gatesville, Texas is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Services and Development with a concentration in
Agri-Industries and Agencies and a minor in Political Science at
Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.
Mr. Buckley is an eighth generation Texas rancher with experience in local, state and national campaigns, as well as a speaker on youth and grassroots involvement in Texas politics. He has assisted with the coordination of numerous political campaigns ranging from school board to Congress, along with various political organizations.
Mr. Buckley is active in championing America’s active duty service members and veterans through promotional efforts with the American Legion and its auxiliaries. He was ranked as an esteemed member of the 66th Session of the American Legion Boys Nation.
Mr. Buckley founded the Young Conservatives of Texas at Tarleton State University and is the past chairman. He is also a member of the Tarleton Economics Society and the Tarleton Wildlife Society. Mr. Buckley was appointed by Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller to the Commissioner’s Advisory Council and served on Governor Abbott’s Young Texans Steering Committee. He previously served in Tarleton’s Student Government Association’s House of Representatives.
Mr. Buckley is the youngest student regent ever appointed by Governor Rick Perry and is serving a one-year term expiring on May 31, 2015.
