Richard Arthur Box, DDS, FACD, of Austin received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1961 and a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1966. Dr. Box is a doctor of dental surgery and has a private practice in the Austin area.
Dr. Box is a member of the American and Texas Dental Associations, American and Texas Academies of General Dentistry and was recently bestowed the honor of Fellow in the American College of Dentists. He is also a member of the Capitol Area Boy Scouts Board of Directors,
Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association, 173rd Airborne Brigade Association and National Guard Association of Texas. Dr. Box is a Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Army. He also served as commander of the Texas State Guard.
Dr. Box was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Rick Perry effective December 8, 2008, and was elected to serve a two-year term as Chairman of the Board on
March 24, 2011. His term expires February 1, 2013.
