B. J. Crain is Associate Vice Chancellor for Budgets and Accounting for The Texas A&M University System. She is responsible for Systemwide financial accounting and reporting oversight; the direction of tax and fiscal activities; the direction of the financial activities/functions related to the legislative appropriations process; the direction of the annual operating budget process and management information analysis and reporting activities; Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) initiatives; the operational direction for the administrative systems operated on behalf of the A&M System; and related policy development and interpretation. She is also responsible for the microcomputer activities for the System Offices as well as the budget, business, payroll and procurement services.
