Gregory R. Anderson

Gregory R. Anderson is the Associate Vice Chancellor and Treasurer for The Texas A&M University System (System) and a member of the Chancellor's Executive Committee. He joined the System in 1985 and has held the positions of Manager of Investments, Director of Financial Planning and Director of Treasury Services. Anderson is responsible for the debt management, investment management, cash management, financial planning, risk management and benefits administration for the A&M System.
Anderson is responsible for the management of the System's investment pools, of over $2.5 billion which have achieved top quartile performance rankings over the last ten years. He also administers the $1.8 billion debt program, which includes a commercial paper program, a self liquidity program, and long-term debt rated Aa1 and AA+. Anderson is in charge of all banking relationships and a cash management program with annual cash flows of over $2.5 billion. He is also responsible for the System's five-year $2.4 billion Capital Plan. He is responsible for the System’s self-insurance plans for both the property program and the workers compensation program that serves over 54,000 employees. Anderson also oversees the employee benefits programs of the System.
In 2007, Anderson chaired a systemwide financial resources planning and controls committee, which implemented additional planning in the annual operating budget process, additional financial controls and planning in the capital projects approval process and a composite financial index, which provides an analytical tool for monitoring the financial health of each of the A&M System institutions.
Anderson served in the first class of the Texas Society of CPA's Legislative Leadership program. He is also a graduate of Class XVI of the Governor's Executive Development Program. He serves on the advisory boards for the Abbott Capital Private Equity Funds, the GMO Forestry Fund, and the Kayne Anderson Private Equity Energy Fund. He served on a peer review team for The University of Texas System Office of Finance in 2008. His professional association memberships include: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Brazos Valley Chapter of CPA's. He is certified by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and the AICPA. Anderson is the A&M System 2009 chairman of the State Employees Charitable Campaign.
Anderson and his wife, Janet, reside in College Station. They have five grown children and four grandchildren.
