Invitation Protocol for Chancellor's Residence Events »

This protocol applies specifically to events held at The Reed House.

EXAMPLE

Invitation Protocol
  • As the host of the event, the chancellor’s name should be listed first on the invitation. It should be listed as:

Chancellor John Sharp

  •  Participation of the chancellor's spouse will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If Mrs. Sharp is hosting the event with the chancellor, it should read:

Chancellor and Mrs. John Sharp
or
Mr. and Mrs. John Sharp

  • If the chancellor's spouse is hosting the event without the chancellor, it should read:

Charlotte Sharp

  • If the chancellor is co-hosting the event with the Board of Regents, it should read:

The Texas A&M University System
Board of Regents

and
Chancellor John Sharp

  • If the chancellor is co-hosting the event with another person, his name is listed first, followed by his co-host:

John Sharp
The Texas A&M University System

and

Interim President Mark Hussey
Texas A&M University

  • Include instructions for attire.
  • A map must be provided for all events at the chancellor’s residence.  The map may accompany the invitation or a link to access the map may be provided. 
  • Reply envelope address should read:
    • If the event is being hosted by the chancellor and Mrs. Sharp:
