31.99.99.S1 Chancellor’s Delegations of Authority for Human Resources Administration

  1. GENERAL

    The Board of Regents has delegated authority for SAGO and certain System-wide personnel actions to the Chancellor, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the System and the System Administrative and General Offices (SAGO). The Chancellor has also been given authority to further delegate these functions where appropriate. The Chancellor will delegate certain authority for human resources administration through this rule and a formal delegation of authority. The System Human Resources Office (SHRO) will be responsible for compiling the delegations of authority for human resources administration for the Chancellor’s approval.

  2. CHANCELLOR’S DELEGATIONS OF AUTHORITY

    Delegations of authority pursuant to this rule shall be in accordance with the following guidelines:

    1. 2.1 The SHRO is responsible for preparing, reviewing and revising the delegations of authority for compliance with System Policy, System Regulation and state law.
    2. 2.2 The SHRO will prescribe the format for the delegations of authority.
    3. 2.3 The SHRO will revise the delegations of authority.
    4. 2.4 The Vice Chancellor for Administration will submit the proposed delegations to the General Counsel for review.
    5. 2.5 The Chancellor will review and approve the revised delegations, and the SHRO will distribute them to the appropriate SAGO administrators.
    6. 2.6 The delegations of authority will be published on the SAGO web page and linked to this rule.
