Melia Caitlyn Jones
Assistant General Counsel

Melia joined the Office of General Counsel in August 2013. Before joining OGC, she served as the Subcommittee Counsel for the Subcommittee on Research and Technology of the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the U.S. House of Representatives. Melia managed a diverse portfolio of policy issues, including natural hazard impact mitigation research; health information technology; technology and privacy issues; surface transportation research and development; and research, development, demonstration, and standards‐related activities of the Department of Homeland Security. During the summer of 2010, Melia was an intern with the BGR Group in Washington, DC, a bipartisan government relations, strategic communications, and investment banking firm. While a student at the Texas Tech School of Law, Melia served as the Organizational Development Chair of the Texas Tech Administrative Law Journal. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University where she was the Chair of C.A.R.P.O.O.L., a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and a recipient of the Buck Weirus Spirit Award.
