Katherine R. Knight
Assistant General Counsel
Katherine Knight serves the System and its members in the Business Law and IP, Property and Construction, and Governance practice groups. Katherine focuses on contract reviews and assistance with issues surrounding contract enforcement. In addition, Katherine provides assistance in the areas of construction, policy and regulation reviews, public information act issues as well as questions involving conflicts of interest or ethics. Katherine serves as lead liaison to Texas A&M University-Commerce and Texas Engineering Extension Service.
Katherine joined the Office of General Counsel in January 2007. Prior to joining OGC, Katherine was an Assistant Attorney General with the Law Enforcement Defense Division of the Office of the Attorney General and Committee Counsel/Chief Clerk for the Corrections Committee of the Texas House of Representatives. Katherine most recently served as a Policy Director and Assistant General Counsel in the Office of the Governor, and Acting General Counsel for the Texas Youth Commission.
