New FAMIS Web Site
The A&M System has redesigned their web site, and as you may have noticed we have a new look to our FAMIS web pages. You may need to change your bookmarks for our FAMIS pages if you get a "Page Not Found" message. The URLs for our report request forms have not changed; however, the contact and feedback forms have changed.
Please contact us if you cannot find the page you are looking for, or if you discover any broken links on one of our web pages.
TBAR242
The TBAR242 has been modified to be an exact replication of the Note 2 from the AFR Module. The Note 2 is derived from FRS data, whereas the TBAR242 is reporting from FFX data. With the modifications, these two should now match.
Change / Enhancements to FAMIS
Any time FAMIS Services must change production data, either through on-line entry or running one of our correction programs (correction programs start with an 'XX' and are run by FAMIS Services) we need to have a Change / Enhancement request on file to show that we had permission to do so from an authorized requestor. When in doubt of how to request something, it never hurts to send a Change / Enhancement request using our online request form.
Documents for 2011
If you want to create documents now in fiscal year 2011 you just change the "Doc Year" on Screen 240 for Limiteds and Screen 235 for Exempts to "2011". DO NOT CHANGE TO FISCAL YEAR 2011 ON SCREEN 882. Changing the "Doc Year" on Screens 240 and 235 will allow you to create L1xxxxx and E1xxxxx documents, but they CANNOT be processed for payment until FAMIS opens fiscal year 2011 for processing on September 8th.
FAMIS Screen Update
Screen 542 - "Acq Date" (Acquisition Date) has been added to display the acquisition date of the asset. Press the PF11 key to toggle the "Asset Acct" column to display the "Acq Date".
Software Purchase Inventory Guidelines
With the implementation of GASB51, the threshold and guidelines for software has changed.
System Office has established GL’s, Account Controls, Expense Subcodes, and FFX Class Codes, to facilitate the reclass of computer software from Furniture & Equipment to Computer Software Intangibles. The Account Controls, Subcodes, and Class Codes were copied to all FAMIS campuses. However, each campus/part will need to create their GL’s. Once your agency has established the required GL's, you will now have the ability to manually post the entries in FAMIS.
An edit was added to Screen 516 in the FFX Module. Screen 598 will allow you to override all SPA related edits so that you can post entries on Screen 516 for the GASB51 changes. Be sure to change Screen 598 back to "N" after posting your entries.
Software has a new object and class code to accommodate these changes:
| Software | Object Code | Class Code |
|---|---|---|
| Internally Developed (**) | 8812 | 881201 |
| Purchased | 8810 | 881001 |
| Customized | 8810 | 881002 |
| Enterprise | 8810 | 881003 |
(** Use Object Code 8733 while in development)
CFDA Codes
Reminder: OSRS maintains the CFDA Code Table. Send your request to osrscfda@tamus.edu for codes.
