My first year with the Chancellor’ Century Council has been an exciting one, and the coming year is already shaping up to be just as busy and challenging. I want to let you know about a few of the things we can look forward to in the months ahead.
Incoming chairs Joe and Patty Mueller have set the date for the fall meeting of the executive committee for 2 p.m. on Sept. 20, just prior to the Texas A&M vs. Miami game. If the game time changes (as we all know happens with football), it will affect our meeting time. But don’t worry. We’ll send out notice of any re-scheduling in plenty of time for you to adjust your plans. Regional meetings also will be starting up in the fall. First up, Dr. McKinney will be traveling to Laredo, Canyon and Austin. Dates and times will be announced to members and guests by invitations.
Although it seems like the 2008 meeting was just yesterday, we’re already looking ahead to the 2009 gathering. April 16-18, we’ll gather in the Texas Panhandle to visit our host, West Texas A&M University in Canyon.
I know this is a lot of business and meeting talk, but on a personal note I also want to thank you for your continued support of The Texas A&M University System and the Chancellor’s Century Council. It’s been a pleasure to work with all those who have been on the council and meet those of you just joining us. I look forward to having another great year.
