Why is longevity pay coded as "salary/wage" rather than "benefit"? »

32) Why is longevity pay coded as "salary/wage" rather than "benefit"?

Longevity pay is coded as salary and wages because that is the definition provided by the state comptroller and it is reflected in the TAMU Object Class structure. This was set up a long time ago, so that is why it has always been done that way.  The comptroller has been consistent in this definition over all these years.  It has never been coded as a benefit, such as UCI, WCI, life insurance or the like.
